About
I'm a graduate student who studies ice-related science. My primary research interests are in glaciology, specifically in using modeling and data from geophysical techniques to study changes in processes within and near the surface of glaciers and ice sheets and their impact on interpreted ice loss or gain.
I'm also a lot of other things (surprise!) - I'm a strong proponent of science outreach, avid pursuer of JEDI initiatives, exuberant outdoors-woman, musician, poet, cat mom, and general admirer of nature.
Through encouragement from friends and family, I decided to share a bit about my journey with folks. As a scientist, it is my aim to communicate the science as accurately as possible. It is also my aim to "tell a story" and to share some of the humanity of my experience through the unique lens of my own. This aspect is easily lost or forgotten in a field that commonly discourages emotional and personalized facets from its communicators. But storytelling is the essence of engaging science, and really one of the most beautiful ways in which we connect as humans. I will do my best at this, and hope that you find your visit here worthwhile.
